Prefabricated residential building ⌂ Vacallo/CH

Captured from the air in Vacallo in Switzerland, this multi-storey prefabricated residential building is taking shape as another Domprojekt project beyond Croatia. A white rendered facade, a flat roof and rows of balconies with glass balustrades and large openings give it a neat contemporary line, while the setting is still being landscaped in a densely built-up hilly area. All floors are assembled from large-format elements lifted by crane onto a prepared concrete base, so even a larger residential building goes up far faster than with conventional construction. For investors this means a shorter schedule, uniform quality on every floor and a price known in advance. The light timber load-bearing structure is engineered to European standards and resistant to earthquakes, fire, snow and wind.
