Prefabricated residential building ⌂ Melano/CH

Raised in Melano in Switzerland, this elongated three-storey prefabricated building with a beige rendered facade is further proof that Domprojekt builds larger buildings beyond Croatia too. A flat roof, rows of rectangular openings and an open ground floor with a covered passage on columns give it a neat, functional line, while an asphalt car park in front and mountains in the background round off the setting. All floors are assembled from factory-made large-format elements, so even a larger building goes up quickly and to a uniform standard on every level. Dry construction means the building is ready for use soon after the works are finished. The robust timber structure is engineered to European standards and resistant to earthquakes, fire, snow and wind, and the price is fixed in advance by contract and unchangeable.
